- Goethe Verlag: You can learn Arabic quickly with ease thanks to these language courses. This website has 100 free, simple lessons for learning Arabic as a second language. All of the sentences and dialogue recorded on this website came directly from native speakers.
- Madinah Arabic: Here, you have words available to you in Modern Standard Arabic as well as Classical Arabic. Vocabulary is split out by category, but the words come with images, audio recordings from a native speaker, and even an option to see the word written out if you’re working on learning to write.
- Arabic Learning Resources: This is a straightforward website listing vocabulary by category based on a plethora of resources which are included. If you prefer flashcards, this would be a great way to transfer vocabulary over to whatever app you use.
- Languages Vocabulary: Here you can find pre-made flashcards covering 42 different subjects and over 1,900 words! And this wealth of knowledge isn’t just for Arabic and English, but many different language combinations! Have a look and start learning flashcards today.

- Lexilogos: This online tool lets you consult multiple online Arabic dictionaries. With all that information that means that you can see the translation, definition, pronunciation, and encyclopedia information at just the click of a button.
- Reverso Context: Thanks to this language search engine, you can see millions of English-Arabic translations and expressions in context via the authentic examples it pulls from the internet. You’ll never have to question how to use a word in a sentence again.
- Glosbe: This English-Arabic dictionary has thousands of words that you can translate in either direction. The translations are also paired with example sentences to see the word used in context.
Listening Comprehension
YouTube Channels for Learning Arabic
- Imran Alawiye: On this channel, Mr. Imran covers everything from learning to write the alphabet all the way up to making sentences, learning common words, and starting to speak! He’s a one-stop-shop for all your Arabic needs.
- Lessons in Arabic Conversation : This channel has a series dedicated to conversations between two Arabic speakers. They speak slowly so the words are easy to understand. Check out this series to get in your listening practice with ease.

Languages Exchanges or Conversations
- LanguaTalk: This online language learning platform connects language learners with native speakers to practice their speaking skills in real time.
- iTalki: This is where many language learners go to practice tandem learning, meaning that two people learning each others’ languages split the time so they can both practice their target language. But if that sounds complicated to you, tutors are also available.
- Tandem: This website/app connects language learners with native speakers by providing options for texting, audio messages, video calls, or even meeting in person. You can adjust your settings and learn the way you want to with a native speaker.
Pronunciation Assistance
Tahadz: This is the best website to practice speaking a word, a sentence, or even reading an Arabic text to improve your pronunciation.
Forvo Arabic
Forvo Arabic is a pronunciation “dictionary” that helps you find the pronunciation of any word. The audio for each word comes from users, so you can see a variety of accents for any given word based on what was uploaded.
Reading and Writing
English-Arabic Bilingual Books
- My Dad is My Hero: When we’re getting started, we need to look back at some more basic writing. So why not do that by enjoying a book about a dad’s love being a guiding light to his son? You’ll be able to create a strong foundation for language learning while warming your heart.
- Nelly’s Box: This story follows Nelly, a bilingual girl excited to be learning more about languages. Additional activities you can do along with Nelly are available on the author’s website!
- In the Forest: This book is actually designed left to right rather than our standard right to left. It’s a great way to immerse yourself in Arabic learning, vocabulary about the forest, prepositions, and the present tense.
Writing Assistance
- Arabic from the Beginning: When starting from the beginning and learning the Arabic alphabet, we’d highly recommend this series by Imran Alawiye. One of our teachers watched his videos and was able to write Arabic letters in just a matter of weeks.
- Lexilogos: This Arabic keyboard places the letters in alphabetical order, diacritical marks underneath, and numbers at the bottom. For someone starting to learn, we’d recommend this layout.
- Arabic Keyboard: If you hope to one day use an Arabic keyboard, then this is your virtual starting point. The Arabic letters are set up like a normal keyboard would be. Just click on the screen and you can be typing in no time.
- Madinah Arabic: If you’re looking to learn how to conjugate verbs in Arabic, we’ll direct you back to Madinah Arabic. They break down different tenses or you can focus on specific verbs if you learn better that way.
- Cooljugator: This “cool Arabic conjugator” allows you to conjugate verbs quickly and easily.
Grammar
Basic Arabic Grammar: Here we have a website that will give you a deep dive on Arabic grammar. You can select different parts of grammar you want to look at and find a detailed description of the topic as well as a video to help explain further. All your grammatical questions can be answered here.
